Q. Why yet another device?
A. More to the point, why not more Engineered Controls? Engineered controls are few in medicine, though next to total elimination of a hazard they are the most effective and reliable, and least expensive solution. In most Western countries Engineered Safety Controls are mandated by all regulatory agencies.

Q. How is the STAL an improvement over my PPE?
A. In all applications the STAL acts to block and confine the dynamic contamination ejected from a source thereby preventing it’s spread to other surfaces and vectors…such as PPE. The properly used STAL can protect well over 100 sq ft. PPE protects specific bad areas, and not very well.

Q. Does the STAL Shield replace PPE?
A. No, it protects PPE from exposure. PPE is your least effect protection level so the less it is contaminated the better. Less PPE contamination equals less risk of transferred contamination via PPE. and reduced spread of contaminant.

Q. Can the STAL save money?
A. Absolutely, the STAL can save your business money in several ways:

  1. by reducing the contamination of the Yankauer which requires replacement, or infects the patient;
  2. by reducing personnel and environmental contamination and cleanup times;,
  3. by reducing the spread of contamination and infective agents thereby decreasing the demand on clean-up procedures, allowing them to be more effective

Q. Do I need to buy a different size for each application?
A. No, one size fits all! The patented flexible grommet will stretch to accommodate and seal snug- ly around all suggested instruments in literally a seconds time.

Q. What does WorkSafeBC say about the STAL?

Q. Is the STAL Shield a single patient use device?
A. Yes as with masks, catheters or other devices, single patient, changed with is applicable instrument.
